Another variation of the new masquerade masks I have been doing. this one is sans the stick in favor of the convenience of the ribbon tie.

For sale here: [link]

Ooo very cool! I have to wonder what the swirlies are made out of? *prod sit* they add a nice venetian flavor to this!

Thankies! I keeping the tech under wraps for the moment till i develop it a bit more and see what I can do with it. But I WILL eventually let everyone in on it. ;)

They sell this funky 3D texture paste at the hobby stores around here. I've been pondering using that on leather, but I'm afraid it'll crack off! I just need to try it and see.

I contemplated similar stuff, things like puff paint and such and I had similar misgivings about it. The stuff I am using is like that and seems to bond pretty well. Still I feel its a little fragile and couldn't take being bent or sat on like a pure leather mask can. But normal venetian masks can't take that abuse either. *shrug*

Yeah that's a good point! I do wonder if there's some kind of polypropylene paste that could be applied with the same viscosity when wet and then dry into a firm, but flexible texture. Methinks I will have to have a good wonder down the polymer clay aisles to see if there's anything there like that!

I will just have to resist buying clay on sale. That stuff is SO fun.

Me too much fun to just mess around with. I considered poly clay but I would be afraid it would shrivel the leather to nothing.

Nice!
The ribbon looks elegant. :)
Far more practical than a stick too.

This is true but some folks like the stick. Who am I to judge?
